What is the strangest job that you’ve ever had?
I once worked on the set of the Stephen King movie, Graveyard Shift, as a carpenter. We worked on building creepy-looking fences and a strange factory set. The entire crew would watch the filming and rehearsal of the gorier scenes. It was really fun, and there was great camaraderie amongst the crew.

If you could switch jobs with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

Either Peter Jackson, who is the amazing director/screenwriter who produced the Lord of the Rings & Hobbit movies, or Maura McHugh, one of our amazing art teachers: Even though I’m a word geek, I have always wanted to use the visual part of my brain more. (Plus, Maura’s room is really cool!)

If you had some free time, how would you spend it? OR How do you spend your summer vacations?
I love to spend time outside, and often go cross-country skiing on the weekends. If there’s no snow, I garden, hike, or read a good book!

What does a typical day at MAMS look like for you?

Each day brings a great mix of working with 6th , 7th , and 8th graders, on pretty much anything related to speech or language. I love the variety and I have wonderful students.

What do you love about middle school?
Middle school students are the best because they are old enough to appreciate my terrible jokes and enthusiastic enough to put up with them!
