What is the strangest job that you’ve ever had?
I don't know about strange, but working at a N.A.S.A. contractor in Hampton, Virginia was certainly an interesting job. I was a financial analyst at UNISYS and was in charge of the accounting for a 20 million dollar N.A.S.A. contract.
If you could switch jobs with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
I did that 24 years ago when I switch from finance and business operations management to working with students. I love what I do. I love helping kids learn.
If you won the lottery tomorrow, what would you do with the money?
Depending on the size of the lottery, if I was able I would provide for my family first, donate to causes I believe in, and take a long and relaxing trip.
If you had some free time, how would you spend it? OR How do you spend your summer vacations?
What is free time? I think I would take a trip every year to different places. I have been able to see a lot of Europe and many parts of the United States. I would like to see other parts of the world and learn about different cultures.
What does a typical day at MAMS look like for you?
I work with an amazing team, so even if it gets a little crazy in our room, we all support each other and find a reason to laugh at the end of the day. I support students in their classroom and have 6th grade lunch duty 3 days a week. Because of the nature of our program in ESP, all of us also support the emotional needs of our students when they are having a rough time.
What do you love about middle school?
Middle school is a good fit for my personality. I get this age group and find I can connect with them better than any other age group.
