12DaysofTechTools
There are only 12 days of school before our first winter break. In celebration, I am creating a small blog called Twelve Days of Technology Tools. Each school day, I will post a different technology tool that could be used in your classroom. I will try to describe and embed video about the tools as well as provide links to the tools and possibly an example or two.  I hope you enjoy looking at each one.  If you would like some assistance with using any of these tools, please let me know and I would be happy to assist you.

GoFormative is a great tool for teachers who are looking for interactive, real-time results from formative questions given to a classroom of students. The teacher can watch as all the students logged in answer questions. This system looks similar to Google Drive, but the teacher is able to see ALL responses as they come in. As the answers come in, the teacher can give a score using a sliding scale and also give feedback to the students. This tool is great for formative assessment, as the brand name suggests. Use it as an exit ticket, quick comprehension check, or as a back channel discussion. This can also be an outstanding way to monitor the effectiveness of an element you are working on in your PGP.  Check out this list of 10 Reasons Why Teachers Use GoFormative.  Download this GoFormative Walk Thru Guide.

Thinglink can be used to turn any still image into an interactive, multimedia image. It allows teachers or students to add content inside any image-including photos, video and audio players, web links, polls, text and more that appear in the image when shared and viewed. Below is an example that I made so that parents could learn how to view/use the parent portal within Empower: Watch the video below to learn more about what Thinglink is and can do. Take a look at this post on Free Technology for Teachers that lists 65+ Ways to use ThingLink in Your Classroom.
